Willouise Williams

Willouise Crisp Williams, age 109 of Dover, TN passed away peacefully on September 24, 2023 at Dover Care Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 8, 1914 in a log cabin in the Bear Creek Community near Dover, TN the beloved daughter of William and Birdie Riggins Crisp. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her high school sweetheart whom she married in 1940, husband, Archie Miles Williams.

Willouise graduated from Dover High School in 1931, then attended the Nashville Business College. She worked in Nashville, Clarksville and Atlanta. Willouise worked at Fort Campbell for over 22 years as Chief of Positions and Pay Management Division of Civilian Personal before retiring in 1969. Willouise was a faithful member of Fort Donelson United Methodist Church. Her unfailing desire for people to know and serve God was evident in her years of commitment to her church.

Willouise loved her family and was blessed with many dear friends. She leaves behind a multitude of cherished memories.

She is survived by her nieces; Mary Williams and Carrie Liebler (Tom); nephew, George Williams (Shelly) and many great and great-great nephews and nieces. She is also survived by many devoted cousins, especially the Brigham and Darke families.
Special “Thank You” to her caregivers, while living at home and to the staff at Dover Care Center during the time she was a resident there. Their love and compassion given to her over the years will not be forgotten. Willouise will be especially remembered by all for her fisty demeanor.

The family request, in lieu of memorials, donations be made to Fort Donelson United Methodist Church in memory of Willouise Williams.

Visitation will be held at Fort Donelson United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 30, 2023 beginning at 11:30 am and continue until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Bro. Don Bailey and Bro. William Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Joe Darke, Jim Darke, John Darke, Pat Darke, Mike Darke and Joey Darke. Honorary pallbearers are George Williams, Andy Brigham, George Sexton, Mike Luton, Bradley Spurgeon and Tom Liebler.
