Mr. William Wayne Shepherd, age 83, of Indian Mound, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, surrounded by his family.
William was born on June 20, 1942, in Indian Mound to the late Morris Allen Shepherd and Mildred Cherry Shepherd. He was proud to call Indian Mound home his whole life.
William was a hard-working man who loved his family more than anything. He and his wife, Glenda, shared nearly 58 years of marriage. He was a devoted husband, a steady father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was the light of his life.
For 40 years, William worked as a vending technician in the Nashville and Clarksville areas. In addition to his career, he dedicated much of his life to cattle farming, which he truly enjoyed.
William held a special place in his heart for Bro. David Whitehead and loved his visits with him.
He enjoyed his weekly card games with a close group of friends. Those evenings meant a great deal to him, and those friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Odom Shepherd; daughters, Tammy Elliott (Darrin) and Tanya Pulley (Bobby); grandchildren, Mallory Goodwin, Kerrsti Wojtal, Gunner Elliott, Hadlee Decker, Annsley Elliott, Lila Pulley, Evie Pulley, and Cora Belle Pulley; great-grandchildren, Ellisyn, Hollyn, Archer, Ivy, Hagen, and Hattie; and siblings, Maxwell Shepherd (Bonnie), Louise Outlaw (Danny), Russell Shepherd (Patsy), and Donnie Shepherd (Angela).
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at Anglin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., with Darrin Elliott and Bro. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Hall Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Greg Lehman, Gunner Elliott, Hayden Decker, Michael Goodwin, Billy Woodward, and Jerimiah Wojtal.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Hester, Terry Hester, Ed Givins, Stevie Atkins, Adam Pitts, Joe Mattox, and Mike Davis.
