William E. (Billy) Keel, age 82 of Dover, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. He was born January 21, 1943, son of the late William and Inez Keel. Billy was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Dover Iron Mountain Lodge and Nashville Scottish Rites for over 50 years. He was also a member of Rose Valley Church.
Billy was a steamfitter with Local Union 572 in Nashville and retired as a foreman from the TVA Cumberland Fossil Plant. Billy valued hard work and spent many years farming tobacco. After retirement, he enjoyed attending auctions, going to antique engine shows, crappie fishing and doing some wood working. He especially loved gardening and growing lots of tomato plants.
In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna, and his siblings Eddie Keel and Mary Ann Vick.
Billy is survived by his children, Eugene Keel (Deana), Sharon Williams (Johnny), Karon Gray (Fritz), brothers Bobby Keel and Mike Keel, brothers-in-law Albert Hargis (Kim) and Dean Vick. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and too many close friends to name.
According to Billy’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at Heflin Cemetery, Dover, TN on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ethan Gray, Riley Nolen, Randall Nolen and Mitchell Keel, nephews Lee Hargis and Kevin Hargis.
In lieu of flowers, the family request, donations be made to Rose Valley Church, C/O Kelly Gray, 583 Old Hwy 79, Dover, TN 37058.
