William Gafford

Mr. William P. Gafford, age 78,formerly of Buchanan, TN, passed away, Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00am at the Heflin Cemetery, Dover, TN with Bro. Larry Dukes officiating. Burial will follow in the Heflin Cemetery. He was born June 20, 1934 in Indian Mound, TN son of the late Mantha and Etta Ford Gafford. Mr. Gafford was a retired U.S. Army veteran, retired groundskeeper from Paris Landing State Park and attended Point Pleasant Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Ann Nelms Gafford, brother, Reed Gafford and sister, Marie Nolley. Survivors include his son, David Roper, Virginia; daughter, Melissa Rachal, Colorado, brother, Bobby Gafford, Tennessee, and four grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
