Wayne Austin

Douglas Wayne Austin, 71, Dover, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Park Meadows Post Acute Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, Clarksville, TN.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Akins and Rev. Joe Shannon officiating. Burial will be in Smith Austin Wallace Cemetery Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home.

Wayne was born February 12, 1953 in Clarksville, TN, son of the late Douglas Austin and Ella Ree Cothran Austin. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Indian Mound, TN. He was retired from Tennessee Department of Transportation after 37 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thurston Smith; nephews, Gary Robertson and Daryl Threatt; and brothers-in-law, Donnie Robertson and Wilbert Miller.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Deborah Smith Austin; son, Lee (Aria Bell) Austin, Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by his brother, David (Margie) Austin, Clarksville, TN; sisters, Brenda Robertson, Frances Miller Keatts, and Wanda (Steve) Summers, all of Dover, TN; nieces, Stephanie (Eric) Phillips, Indian Mound, TN and Brittany (Tony) Sauers, Clarksville, TN; nephews, Randy (Michelle) Robertson, Dover, TN and Joshua (Holly) Austin, Clarksville, TN; great nieces, Ambria (Drew) House, Clarksville, TN, Ella Robertson, Caity Otto both of Dover, TN and Ella Sauers, Clarksville, TN; great nephews, Garren (Cassie) Robertson, Dover, TN, Jacob Austin and Ben Austin, both of Clarksville, TN; great great-nephew, Keegan Darnell, Clarksville, TN.

Pallbearers will be Randy Robertson, Garren Robertson, Joshua Austin, Larry Halliday, Tony Sauers and Eric Phillips.
