Kaye Burkhart

Vivian Kaye Burkhart, fondly known as "Kaye," age 83 of Dover, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at Dover Care Center. She was born on October 1, 1946, the beloved daughter of Thesdy Pugh and Nola Boren Hutchison.

Kaye was a spunky lady who lived life to the fullest. She and her sisters enjoyed visiting local casinos and playing the penny machines, sharing laughter and creating lasting memories together. She also loved receiving flowers from her family. Kaye enjoyed the journeys a good book would take her on and found comfort in listening to music.

She especially looked forward to her trips to Piggly Wiggly, where she enjoyed visiting with employees, family, and occasionally running into old friends to catch up on the latest news. She never turned down an invitation to go out to eat and spend time with her family. Her family was the joy and happiness of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Kaye was a dedicated worker for 30 years before retiring from the nursing home in Dover, where she took great pride in her housekeeping duties. A good, shiny floor was always her goal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Hutchison; and her sisters, Betty Feltner, Ann Kandler, and Brenda Bohn.

Kaye leaves behind the joy of her life, her children: her son, Jeff Burkhart (Sheila); and her daughter, Joy Kraeske (Johnny); her grandchildren, Mitchell Burkhart (Kristeen), Abby Walters (Craig), and Luke Jones (Nicki); and her great-grandchildren, Adam, Melissa, Cody, Allora, Ella, Belle, Kayla, and Katie.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Anglin Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with Mitchell Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Kaye Burkhart, to Stewart County Friends of the Public Library, 102 Natcor Dr., Dover, TN 37058.
