Velma Burkhart

Velma Olene Burkhart, 68, Indian Mound, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The funeral service will be at 4:30 pm Sunday, August 14, at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service Sunday, at Anglin Funeral Home. She was born March 25, 1943, in Stewart County, daughter of the late Elbert and Kate Carter Austin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Carmel Austin. Mrs. Burkhart is survived by her husband, James Burkhart, Indian Mound, daughter, Kim Melton, Indian Mound, brother, Dexter Austin, Tennessee Ridge, sisters, Betty Wyatt, Erin, Janice Hutnick, Erin, Faye Thomas, Allensville, KY, and granddaughter, Ashlyn Melton, Indian Mound. Pallbearers will be Casey Page, Shane Melton, Paul Austin, Doug Bible, Jeff Turner, and Lewis Shepherd, Jr.
