Thelma Delashmit

Thelma Adams Delashmit, 85, of Carlisle, Tennessee passed away May 5, 2017 in Collinsville, Illinois. Thelma was born in Carlisle to Homer and Ora Adams on August 27, 1931. Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Harold Delashmit, her parents, her sister Marie, brothers Floyd, Pete, and Edward “Poss”, and a granddaughter. Thelma is survived by her loving children, daughter Linda Nico of Florida, and sons Melvin, Perry, and Mark of Illinois; six grandchildren, sister Mary and brother Wilton Lee “Mutt”. Thelma went to W.T. Thomas High School and graduated in 1949. She moved to Illinois at age 19 to seek work where she met Harold. Thelma and Herald retired to Tennessee in 1987 where they enjoyed many happy years together. Thelma was a skilled quilt maker, among many other attributes. She was a member of Carlisle Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Anglin Funeral Home in Dover, TN, Friday, May 12, from 4 to 7 pm. The funeral service will be at Anglin Funeral Home, Saturday, May 13, at 10 am. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens.
