Sue Allen

Sue `Momma Sue` Allen, 88, Dover, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Manor House of Dover. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 pm Thursday and from 12-2 :00 pm Friday at Anglin Funeral Home. Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born June 24, 1922 in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late Clate and Agatha Beasley Dortch. Mrs. Allen was a school bus driver for 20 yrs. for the Stewart Co. school system, graduate of W.T. Thomas High School and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter in law, Wanda Allen, brother, Buddy Dortch and sister, Helen Richey. Survivors include her husband, Boyd Allen, Dover; sons, Jackie Allen, Paris, TN, Dana (Pam) Allen, Dover; daughter, Ann (Huel) Atkins, Dover,; brother, B.W. Dortch, Chattanooga, TN; seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brian Ross, Jeff Allen, Dan Pinkowsky, Ryan Pinkowsky, Mickey Atkins, Shannon Atkins and Danny Howell.
