Scytha Allen

Scytha Knight Allen, age 95, of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in Clarksville. She was born February 11, 1919 to Mertie Barrow Knight and Noble Duboise Knight.
Scytha married Marvin Allen Jr. April 8, 1938. They grew up together in the Rushing Creek community in Stewart County, and shared many memories of growing up in one of the most beautiful areas of Stewart County. They moved to the Legate Community in 1958. Scytha worked many years at Dill’s Department Store in Dover where she gained lasting friendships.
Scytha was a member of Big Rock Baptist Church for fifty-six years and served faithfully in the choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dover.
Scytha is survived by two sons, Les (Helen) of Clarksville, Kendall (Betty Joe) of Madison, and one daughter, Carol (Joe) Wallace of Gallatin, seven grandchildren, Amelia Magette, Frazier Allen, Kimberly Arrant, Jeff Allen, Joshua Wallace, Adam Wallace and Abby Wallace. Also six great-grandchildren, Grace Allen, Isabella Allen, Garrett Allen, Ella Arrant, Sydney Wallace and Levi Wallace and two brothers, Noble Knight, Murray, Kentucky and Larry Knight, Mayfield, Ky. The family would like to acknowledge appreciation to Scytha’s loving caregiver, Cherry Davenport and the kind nursing and rehab staff at Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville. They were wonderful, caring Christian people.

Pallbearers will be Frazier Allen, Jason Magette, Jeff Allen, Joshua Wallace, Adam Wallace, Doug Parker, Dino Smith, Troy Feltner, Ricky Skinner, Larry Mathis, Bill Cobb and Steve Sanders. Honorary pallbearers will be her wonderful, loving friends of Big Rock Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held at Anglin Funeral Home November 8 at 1:00PM with Brothers David Whithead and Al Cobb officiating. Burial will be at Stewart County Memorial Gardens in Dover.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7 from 4:00-8:00 and from 12:00 until the time of service on Saturday. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Big Rock Baptist Church, 504 Big Rock Rd., Big Rock, TN. 37023.
