Sara Compton

Ms. Sara Margaret Compton, age 81, of Dover, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 at Diversicare of Dover. She was born October 10, 1937 in Stewart County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Thomas Pepper and Martha Hogue Pepper. Ms. Sara retired from K Mart, Clarksville, TN and was a store manager at Dill’s Piggly Wiggly, where she retired after 20 years of service.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Compton, brothers, Tom Pepper, Charlie Pepper, Gene Pepper, and Lurton Pepper, sisters, Mary Henry and Mattie Skinner, and one grandchild.
Survivors include her children, Billy Joe Compton (Theresa), Indian Mound, Tommy Dale Compton (Rhonda), Dover, Michael Brandon Compton (Jennifer), Big Rock, and Lisa Hunter (Art), Clarksville, nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Monday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Levi Compton, Zach Compton, Brien Dill, Mitchell Burkhart, Lance Warfield, and Jimmy ‘Bobo’ Compton.
Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, Tennessee.
