Samuel Bazel Wallace

Dec 14, 1936 — Aug 22, 2026

Stewart

Mr. Samuel Bazel Wallace, age 89, of Stewart, TN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY. He was born on December 14, 1936, in Ft. Henry, TN, in what is now Land Between the Lakes, to the late C.C. Wallace and Vesta Morris Wallace.

Known affectionately as "Sammy" by his family and friends, he was a man whose life was defined by hard work, faith, service, and a genuine love for others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a longtime member of Moriah Grove Masonic Lodge #301.

Sammy was never afraid of hard work. Throughout his life, he worked in autobody repair, as a service writer dispatcher at TVA, and as a pastor at several local churches. He was the kind of man who believed in doing a job well and looking out for the people around him. But more than anything, his faith was at the center of his life. As a preacher, he was passionate about sharing the love of Christ and helping others come to know the Lord. His love for people and his desire to see them walk with Christ were evident to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his first wife, Wilma Lynn Wallace; and his siblings, Morris, Joe, Clarence, J.C., Virdie Mae, Illene, Ramey, Marie, and Maxine.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Ruby Wallace; daughters, Jamie Gail and Connie Stafford; sons, Tony Wallace (Lisa) and Victor Wallace (Mary); 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Visitation for Sammy will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the public is invited to attend.

Visitation will continue on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. Pastor Beverly Dycus will officiate. Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery in Dover, TN, with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Joe Epstein, Jeremy Crawford, Todd Wallace, Jared Wallace, Jacob Wallace, and Caleb Joiner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Wallace, Lesley Thomas, Junior Lane, Charles Buchanan, and Charlie Legion.
