Rita Royals

Rita Faye Royals, 65 of Dover, TN passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born on October 3, 1959 in Erin TN, daughter of John and Ann Steeley.

Rita began her working career at B&M Dairy Freeze before earning her associate’s degree. She then started her career at Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records department, where she later transitioned into the role of a Medical Transcriptionist. Rita dedicated over 30 years of service to Gateway Medical before retiring. In her retirement years, she found joy in working in the yard, tending to her flowers, and cherishing Sunday dinners with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jay and her mother, Ann.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelsey Grimes and Megann Fair; father, John Steeley; siblings, Kathy Webb, Richie Steeley, Lori Brandon and Michelle Sills; grandchildren, Hadley Fair, Peyton Bruno, Eric, Harper and Teagan Grimes; mother-in-law, Myrna Royals and her loyal companion, Buster.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Bro Jeff Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Royals, Bryan Sills, Kyle Webb, Christopher Bruno, Ethan Brandon and Robin Brandon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Clinic-Stewart County, Dover, TN, c/o Rita Tinsley R DVM.
