Reuben Brown

Mr. Reuben H. Brown ‘Chief’, age 86 of Tennessee Ridge, TN passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Houston County Community Hospital. He was born in Gallatin, TN on June 1, 1937 the son of the late William McKinley Brown and Julia Bailey Brown. Reuben was a hard worker and provider for his family, working as a warehouse and shipping clerk for many years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Reuben loved spending his time outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Robert Ray Brown and Kenneth Ulysses Brown.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Joy Wyatt Brown; son, Michael Brown (Haley); daughter, Lisa Brown Harris (Rodney); granddaughter who was raised as a daughter, Robin Ross; step-son, David Lohr; brother, James Brown, 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and expecting 2 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Tennessee Ridge Baptist Church at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 21, 2023 with Bro. Steven Cathey officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am and continue until the funeral service. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
