Rebecca Barrow

Rebecca Biggs Barrow, age 90, was called home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2022 at Fairview Park Assisted and Memory Care Facility in Simpsonville, SC. Rebecca was born in Dover, TN on July 24, 1931, the oldest of three daughters to Ruth and Fred Biggs. She graduated from Dover High School and spent a majority of her working career in insurance. She also worked as a clerk for the City of Dover office before she retired to provide full-time care-giver services for her husband, Wilmer Barrow.

Rebecca loved her family and the time she got to spend spoiling her grandchildren. Rebecca and her sister Freddie Jean made hundreds of loaves of their famous sourdough bread and enjoyed sharing them with family, friends, or those in need of a smile and bit of encouragement. Over the years, she also took up knitting and cross-stich. Some of those creations will surely be passed down as heirlooms to future family members.

Rebecca loved to spend a portion of her Saturdays and Sundays watching the Tennessee Volunteers and NFL teams play football, and then talking with her two sons about the games. She had a unique ‘gift of gab’ that came naturally with smiles that were genuinely shared with friends and strangers alike. Her almost endless energy was generously spent in her later years supporting family members with failing health.

Rebecca was a dedicated and active member of the First Christian Church in Dover, TN and loved to sing in the choir and play the piano. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife and will be missed by all who really knew her.

Rebecca is survived by her sons Mike and Rick (Kathy) Barrow; grandchildren, Derrick, Nathan, Hunter, and Aaron Barrow, Hannah (Josh) Breed, Andrew (Julia) and Graham (Danielle) Rickard; great grandchildren, Ava, Chloe, and Penelope Barrow and Grace Rickard and sister, Wanda Chilcutt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer, and her sister, Freddie Jean Stinson.

Visitation will be Friday, June 10, 2022 from 12:00 pm until the hour of the funeral service at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
