Ray C. Brewer

Mr. Ray C. Brewer, age 92, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 21, 1933, in Toledo, OH, the son of the late Clarence Ross Brewer and Thresa Tice Brewer.

Ray dedicated his life in service to others. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service through a distinguished 40-year career in law enforcement in both Detroit, MI, and Dover, TN, as well as with the Stewart County School System. He was a long-time member of LBL Church of Christ. Ray cherished the town of Dover and often said, "You couldn't find a better place to live."

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Ted Brewer; his son, David Brewer (Sue); his daughter, Denise Moore Glover (Rex); five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Matthew Cole officiating. Burial will take place at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Members of the Stewart County Sheriff's Department and the Dover Police Department will serve as pallbearers.
