Nelda Crockarell

Mrs. Nelda Crockarell, age 73 of Big Rock, TN, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. She was born on June 8, 1951, the beloved daughter of the late Ray and Robbie Lyon.

Nelda dedicated 46 years of her life as a loyal and devoted librarian at North Stewart Elementary School. She had a deep love for her pets and enjoyed spoiling them. A member of the Church of Christ, Nelda was also a loving and devoted wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family, especially her grandchild and great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Nelda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry 'Wayne' Crockarell; her sister, Norma Jean Young; and her brothers, J.C. Lyon and Virgil Lyon.

Nelda leaves behind her cherished grandson, Bo Crockarell; daughter-in-law, Stacey Crockarell; and one great-grandchild, along with numerous extended family and friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation with family will begin at 12:00 pm, with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place at Smith Cemetery in Big Rock, TN. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Luton, Virgil Wallace, Danny Lee, Jerry Ross, Tim Page, Tommy Rennick and Gene Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Elaine Luton, Cheryl Moore, Beverly Lewis, Shirley Sanders, Betsy Smith, Nancy Spiers, Gale Lee, Regina Humphries, Ann Cheatham, Anita Hawkins, Martha Vaughn and Dean Gray.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Stewart County School System, Family Resource Benevolence Fund; P.O. Box 411; Dover, TN 37058 for the students.
