Lt. Col. Nancy Asquith, age 89, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026, at Dover Care Center. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 5, 1936, the beloved daughter of Glenn and Helen Underdown Asquith.

Ms. Nancy, as she was fondly known, spent her life as a caregiver and a devoted servant of the Lord. Raised as a pastor's daughter, she developed a deep love for her faith and remained an active member of the Baptist church throughout her life. She was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Ms. Nancy began her career in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Following her military service, she pursued a lifelong career in nursing. In 1960, she enrolled at Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing in Lowell, Massachusetts, graduating three years later with a diploma in nursing. She continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 1968. In 1994, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt University.

Her professional career spanned decades of dedicated service. From 1960 to 1967, she worked at Lankenau Hospital as a staff nurse and head nurse. From 1967 to 1974, she served in the Army Nurse Corps in pediatrics. Between 1974 and 1980, she was a nursing instructor at Austin Peay State University in the associate degree RN program. From 1980 to 1992, she worked at Memorial Hospital in Clarksville, Tennessee, beginning as Assistant Director of Nursing and later serving as Director of Nursing.

From 1992 to 1994, while continuing her education at Vanderbilt University, Ms. Nancy worked in home health and hospice care. Beginning in 1994, she served as a nurse practitioner with Premier Medical Group, and in 1996 she joined Dover Medical Clinic, where she eventually retired.

Primarily serving as a pediatric nurse practitioner, Ms. Nancy was widely known for her deep love of children and her compassionate care. Her dedication touched countless lives, as she cared for patients from birth through graduation, leaving a lasting impact on families throughout the community.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Hackney Asquith and sister, Helen Jenn Lawrence.

Ms. Nancy leaves behind her sister-in-law, Connie Asquith; nieces, Meredith Lynne Twardowski (Thomas F.Jr.), Shannon Elizabeth Stahl (Jack), Joan Lawrence (Jose Ossu) and Mary Oyola (Marco); caretaker and dear friends, Rose and Dan O'Neal.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Anglin Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Bro. Steve Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
