Mildred Jobe

January 4, 1929 — September 23, 2024

Mildred Lynn Jobe, lovingly known by her friends and family as Mama Jobe and Great Mama, crossed over from her earthly home into the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 23, 2024 at AHC Paris.

She was born January 4, 1929 to George Ambrose (Bruce) and Lottie Dortch Lynn. She married the love of her life, Howard B. Jobe, who she affectionately called, “Jobie”, on October 22, 1945.

Mildred was an avid quilter who shared her talents and her time with many others. She looked forward to her beloved weekly quilting group. Her talent and love of quilting and quilts garnered her various invitations to LBL and once aboard the Delta Queen. Mildred also loved the Smokey Mountains and her wildflowers expeditions with her friends and daughter. The wildflower treks were also part of her love for the woods surrounding her Standing Rock Creek home. Every spring there were walks to find the first lady slipper of the season, along with bluebells, bloodroot, trilliums, spring beauties, and more. Most of all, Mildred loved her children and family. She was quick to brag about her “perfect’ children and grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard B. Jobe, daughter Karee Dean Harper, son-in-law David “Doot” Harper, granddaughter Jessica Lynn Harper, grandson Will Jobe, daughter-in-law Cheryl Jobe, sister Inez Welty.

Those left to cherish her memory are brother George Lynn (Mayola), sons Kenneth Lynn Jobe (Rita), Howard Lee Jobe (Ruth), Bruce Jobe (Debbie) and Jimmy Jobe (Dixie). She also leaves 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren.

A visitation will begin at 10:00 am on September 26, 2024 at Anglin Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm with Bro. Don Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Sexton Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN and online condolences may be made at anglinfuneralhome.com
