Melissia Gray

Melissia Patterson Gray passed peacefully at home with her husband by her side on March 23, 2025. Born November 19, 1954 in Erin, TN to the late Carl Andrew & Syble Mae Patterson.

Melissia was a proud graduate of Houston County High School class of 1972. She continued her education earning her bachelors from Austin Peay State University and her Masters from Tennessee State University.

Melissia was a devoted educator with a life-long passion for special education that was inspired by her late sister. She spent her career caring for and loving each of her students as her own.

She loved her family immensely, spending time with her grandchildren was the highlight of each day. In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoyed time and walks with her animals; dogs, cows & even her donkey,Donald.

Melissia is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Frankie Gray, son Jim Eley (Sallie), daughter Morgan Williams (Ed), grandsons Luke Eley, Gray Williams, Slate Williams and granddaughters Savannah Eley and Madalyn Williams.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 pm with Bro. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Heflin Cemetery Dover, TN. Serving as pallbearers are Will Gray, Gannon Gray, Fritz Gray, Ethan Gray, Thorne Gray and Grayden Grise.
