Maxine Wofford

Mrs. Maxine Wofford, age 89 of Clarksville, TN was called home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2024. She passed peacefully at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Fort Herny, TN on July 2, 1934 the beloved daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Vesta Lou Morris Wallace. Maxine deeply loved her family. She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, working in her flowers and especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who shared their love with her. Maxine loved the Lord and served Him as a member at Park Lane Nazarene Church, Clarksville, TN. She was a loving, compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and dear friend to everyone.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Morris Wallace, Joe Wallace and J.C. Wallace; sisters, Virdie Mae Atkins, Ilene Russell, Ramie Simpson and Marie Steele.

She leaves behind her family, to cherish the memories they made together. Her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Bernard Wofford; daughter; Carolyn Dorris; sons, Alfred Wofford, Gary Wofford (Connie), Mark Wofford (Kim), and Steve Wofford (Bobbie); brothers, Clarence Wallace and Sammy Wallace; 10 precious grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel on May 4, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, continuing until the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Bro. Jerry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Wofford Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Eric Dorris, Jeff Dorris, Nick Lividini, Andy Wofford, Greg Wofford, Kyle Wofford, Matthew Lanier, Nathan Brown and Paul Wofford.
