Maxine Lynn

Maxine Keel Gillespie Lynn, 72, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 surrounded by her eight children. Maxine was a devoted mother. She reared her children with much love and taught each one how to cook and make a bed. The funeral service will be at 11am Tuesday, May 8, at Anglin Funeral Home, with Earl Claud officiating. Burial will be in the Heflin Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 7, from 4 -8 pm at Anglin Funeral Home and from 9 am until the time of service Tuesday. Sons and son-in-laws will serve as pallbearers. Maxine was born September 28, 1939, in Dover, to Cullom Henderson and Hattie Pearl Keel. On August 28, 1956 she married Gene Gillespie with whom she had eight children, including Marlon, Phillip, Keith, Chris, Scott, Roger, Michelle Bates, and Sandy Downs. Gene Gillespie died on December 13, 1985. Her children also provided Maxine with 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Maxine was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Ronnie Keel. In addition to her children she is survived by her sister, Bettye Rehman and her second husband Leon Lynn. Maxine was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
