Mary Nell Tarter

Ms. Mary Nell Tarter, 83 of Dover, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Monday October 12, 2026 with family by her side. Born on March 23, 1943 the daughter of Cecil and Lela Bell Crow. 

Mary found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially fishing, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She cherished the laughter, friendly competition, and special memories made around the card table. Mary also loved putting on her dancing shoes and enjoying a night of dancing at the VFW with Billy, creating wonderful memories together on the dance floor.

Mary will be remembered for the happiness she found in everyday moments, the friendships she treasured, and the love she shared with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories of her laughter, her dancing, and the time spent together will live on in the hearts of her family and friends

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lela Bell Crow; sisters, Joyce Acuna and Carol Brake.

Mary leaves behind her loving sons, John Tarter (Melissa) and Sean Tarter (Stephanie); her companion, Billy Hamm; brothers, Johnny Crow and Kelly Crow; grandchildren, Mason Tarter, Morgan Tarter, Holly Tarter Berry (Devin), Corey Tarter, Olivia Tarter Johnson (Robert); great grandchildren, Nora Berry, Isaiah Berry and Robert Johnson, Jr.

In keeping with Mary's wishes, she will be cremated. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
