Mary `Josie` Melton Powers, 90, Dover, died went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Manor House of Dover. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Dunaway officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Nov. 9, 1919 in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late John and Belle Taylor Austin. Mrs. Powers was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Melton, second husband, Enlowe Powers, son, William Melton, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son, Corbet Melton (Gale), Dover; daughter, Elaine Kirkland, Indian Mound; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Grandchildren will be pallbearers.
