Mary P. Durocher, 82 of Edgewood, FL, passed away November 8, 2022 at Hospice Care Center, Edgewater, FL.
She was born Mary Pauline Rowlett and grew up on a farm in Indian Mound, TN with her parents, Thomas and Ruby and her three brothers, Andrew, Roger, and Scott. After moving to Nashville to attend Nashville Business College, she met and married her husband, Eugene Durocher. Together, they moved to Plattsburgh, NY where they raised a family of three, Connie, Greg, and Karen.
Mary remained a devoted mother and wife. She was a creative woman and domestic goddess. Her apple pie was unrivaled, she could crochet, knit, and as a gifted seamstress, she made beautiful clothes and costumes for her children. She was also handy in carpentry skills. She was an amazing gardener who loved animals. Mary took particular joy in her grandchildren, Gordon and James Terry and Kaelin and Melia Furbush.
Mary worked over a decade in the Catholic Diocese as an accountant/bookkeeper at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, NY. She had a gentle, patient soul and a magnificent easy smile.
Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Durocher, her children, Greg (Sue LaBlanc) Durocher, Connie (Allen) Terry, and Karen ‘Kadie’ Durocher, grandchildren, Gordon, James, Kaelin, and Melia, brother, Scott (Janie) Rowlett, sister-in-law, Kathleen Guay, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Anglin Funeral Home with COL. Michael Wood, USA, Retired officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 -10:00 am on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date at the Corinth Cemetery.
