Marvin Wyatt Wilson Remley, a lifelong resident of Stewart County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in Dover on December 29, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on March 30, 1929, Marvin was the youngest of thirteen children to Douglas and Beulah Atkins Wyatt.
Marvin was married to her high school sweetheart, Clarence Wilson, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories until his death in 1988.
She built a long and respected career at Dover’s People's Bank and Trust, where she worked as a teller and customer service representative. Marvin was known for her professionalism, reliability, and dedication to her customers, making her a trusted and valued member of the community. She deeply valued her co-workers and the friendships she formed throughout her career, considering them an integral part of her life and success alongside her family.
Outside of work, Marvin enjoyed quilting, shopping, and had a keen sense of style, always taking pride in dressing fashionably. These hobbies allowed her to express herself and appreciate the bounty of life. Marvin was a lifelong member of Wyatt’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Marvin was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, and sisters. She is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor her memory.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses, physicians, and staff at the Dover Care Center for the compassionate care they provided to Marvin in her final days.
She will be remembered for the meaningful relationships she nurtured with family, friends, and colleagues alike. Her sharp wit and impeccable style will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Wyatt Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
