Martha Higgs

Martha Ann Higgs, 76, Big Rock, TN, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday at Bethel Church of God with Rev. Aquila Penrod officiating. Burial will be in Taylor's Cemetery, Big Rock, TN. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday and from 11am-1pm Saturday at Bethel Church of God.
Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 15, 1934 in Stewart Co., TN daughter of the late Davis and Ethel Edwards Taylor. Mrs. Higgs was retired civil service and a member of Bethel Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Luther Taylor and James Allen Taylor and sisters, Cora Hugh,Ethelene Philpott, Laverne Taylor, Dorcus Ezell, Carlene Hawkins, Otis Hawkins, Margaret Harrison and Gracie Taylor. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Higgs, Big Rock; sons, Raymond Dale Higgs, Big Rock, Ricky (Pam) Higgs, Paris, TN, Roger Higgs, Big Rock; daughters, Rita (Rex) Wallace, Big Rock, Rosa Higgs, Big Rock; sister in law, Stella Taylor, Big Rock; eleven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Higgs, Michael Higgs, Jeremy Higgs, Jacob Higgs, Adam Wallace and Cody Bowles. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Butler, Cindy Compton, Melissa Higgs, Jessi Higgs and Megan Higgs.
