Mariechan Borens

Mrs. Mariechan E. Borens, age 100, of Dover, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Dover Care Center. Mariechan was born in Stewart County on November 25, 1924, the beloved daughter of Dan and Lela Wiggins Knight.

Mariechan was gifted with a creative and generous spirit. She loved quilting and spent countless hours stitching beautiful heirlooms by hand, treasures crafted with love and passed down through generations. She was also a wonderful cook who took great pride in preparing good old-fashioned country meals. Many cherished family memories were made gathered around her table, sharing the food she lovingly prepared.

In her later years, Mariechan found immense joy and comfort in the presence of her family. Time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren brought fulfillment to her days and peace to her heart.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Borens; her precious great-granddaughter, Beth Borens; and her son-in-law, Charles Allen.

Mariechan leaves behind the family she loved deeply: her sons, Bobby Borens (Denise) and Larry Borens (Bonnie); her daughter, Wanda Allen; her grandchildren, Chuck Allen (Linda), Lindy Crutcher (Terry), Tim Borens (Karen), Todd Borens (Jamie), Steve Borens (Gayla), and Lori Shepherd; 12 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Anglin Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until 11:45 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with Bro. William Gray officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Tim Borens, Todd Borens, Chuck Allen, Stephen Borens, Walter Borens, and Derek Earhart. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Borens, Alec Borens and Connor Allen.
