Mamie Shelton

Ms. Mamie Elizabeth Shelton, age 82 of Bumpus Mills, TN passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born in Stewart County on April 26, 1941 the beloved daughter of William Russell and Martha Travis Page. Mamie was a homemaker and caregiver, giving and sharing her love with everyone. She especially enjoyed cooking and having her family together at her home. Mamie was a member of Bethel First Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Odell Knight; and husband, William Oscar Shelton; sister, Thellma May Morales; brother, Darce Page; and grandson, Alan Richard Nelson.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Regina and Tim Nelson of Louisville, KY; sons, Gary Russell Hopkins of Dover, TN and Gerald Johnson of Bumpus Mills, TN; sisters, Hilda and Bill Beecham and Wanda Bender; grandchildren, Jennifer Payton, Jessica Wijaya, Angela Whitmore and Amanda Whitmore; great-grandchildren; Aluna Wijaya, Sadie Payton and Mamie Payton.

A graveside service will be held at Page Cemetery on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Del Morgan officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
