Mabel Harris

Mabel Annabelle Harris, 97, Dover, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Phoebe Jowers officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home and from Monday 10:00 am until the time of service. An Eastern Star service will be at 7:00 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home. She was born December 28, 1914 in Stewart County, TN, daughter of the late, Calvin Clarence and Lily Mae Meredith Maddox. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Leatherwood Asbury Quilting Club, and the Leatherwood-Asbury Methodist Church. Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her husband, James Corbett Harris, daughter, Bernice Ann Shaw, brothers, Willie Calvin Maddox, Judson Clarence Maddox, sister, Bertie Mae Rainwater, and grandchild, Debra Shaw. Survivors include her daughter, Burnetta Nell Watson, Dover, grandchildren, Catherine Watson, Gary Watson, Mark Watson, Michael Shaw, 11 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
