Loy Humphrey

Loy Karrol Humphrey ‘Hump’, age 84 of Big Rock, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. David Whitehead to officiate. Burial will be in the Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Saturday at Anglin Funeral Home.
He was born May 7, 1930 in Faye, Oklahoma, son of the late Harry and Alta Frans Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a 20 year retired US Air Force Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from the railroad and CEMC, he built log homes and was a member of the Big Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Geri Humphrey, Big Rock, son, Randy Humphrey, Big Rock, daughter, Sherrie Hernandez, Big Rock, one brother, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jobe, Jeff Higgs, Shane Wallace, Donnie Burkhart, Davy Bryant, Stephen Fitzhugh, T.J. Martindale, and Madison Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Humphrey, his CEMC co-workers, and his home building crew.
