Lowell Spurgeon

Lowell Spurgeon, 73, Dover, TN passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 6:00 pm at Taylor's Chapel United Methodist Church with Phoebe Jowers and Robert Hargrove officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 3-6:00 pm at Taylor's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was born November 16, 1939 in Stewart Co., TN son of the late Clarence and Lulu Lane Spurgeon. Mr. Spurgeon was a tie buyer for Kerr-McGee and Averitt Lumber Co and was a member of Taylor's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Byron Lane Spurgeon and brothers, Paul and David Spurgeon. Survivors include his wife, Louise Cottrell Spurgeon, Dover, TN; sons, Brian Spurgeon, Dover, TN and Brad Spurgeon, Nashville, TN; sister, Jessie Geurin, Booneville, IN; grandchildren, Byron David Spurgeon and Breanna Haddox (Mark) and great grandchild, Emily Haddox. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Byron Spurgeon Memorial Scholarship Fund at any Regions Bank.
