Mrs. Lisa Anne Sagley, 60, of Indian Mound, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. She was born on August 28, 1964, in Newport, Rhode Island.
Known for her tough determination, she was a woman of grit, yet her heart was full of kindness and a nurturing spirit. She always took the time to care for others, especially her family, her community, and her rescue dogs, all of whom she deeply loved.
Lisa proudly served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Over the last 14 years, she and her husband, J.D., founded Sagley’s Biker Bully Farm (SBBF), where she rescued and rehomed thousands of dogs, showing immense love and care for the animals she saved. Lisa was deeply admired within the animal rescue community for her unwavering commitment and compassion, and her influence extended throughout Stewart County and the surrounding areas, where she touched the lives of countless people and animals alike. Lisa also worked as a contractor at Fort Campbell for a decade prior to managing the SBBF non-profit full-time.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Cecil and Alice Law; her devoted husband of 15 years, J.D. Sagley; her children, Trisha Johnson (Michael), Brittney Walker (Jason), Amanda Mullen (Josh), Derek Hunter, Megan Mitchell (Brandon), and Jennifer Hodgkinson; her brother, Bryan Rhodes (Aileen); her father-in-law, Jackie Douglas Sagley, Sr (Early).; her mother-in-law, Glenda Gail Newcom; brothers-in-law, Stan Sagley and Kyle Sagley; sister-in-law, Emilee Smith (David); 18 cherished grandchildren; and many others she considered children of her heart.
She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Laura Sagley.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Stewart County Middle School, 723 Spring Street, Dover, TN, with Bro. Johnathan Hardison officiating. The family will receive visitors starting at 1:00 p.m.
