Lillian Phippen Ross, 97, Dover, passed away, Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Manor House of Dover. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, January 12, at Anglin Funeral Home with Carl Newberry officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until the time of service on Thursday, at Anglin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ross was born March 7, 1914 in Stewart County, daughter of Alfred W. and Elizabeth Yarborough Bryant. She was a clerk at CEMC and a member of the Ft. Donelson United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Blanks Phippen, Sr., second husband Ed Ross, granddaughter, Sherry Thweatt, and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Blanks Phippen, Jr. ‘Buddy’, daughter in law, Sue Phippen, grandsons, Sam Phippen (Nawanna and Blane), Jerry Phippen (Kris), and George Carr (Debbie), eight great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Dover or the Ft. Donelson United Methodist Church.
