L. Evelyn Brake

Lois Evelyn “Nanny” Brake, age 84 of Carlisle, TN passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 1, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 12, 1940 and was married to the late Charles Brake. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Dover, TN. Charles and Evelyn had five children: Trina Jackson (Billy), Freda Brake, Rita Brake, Anita Bowers, and Charles Ray Brake ‘Junior’ (Jody).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Luffman, husband, Charles Brake, daughters, Trina Jackson and Freda Brake, and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by Rita, Anita, Charles “Junior” and her brother, Russell Luffman (Wanda). ‘Nanny’ as her loved ones called her has 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many extended kids.

She loved hard and prayed for all her family. She loved her beloved dog Pudgy. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother. Nanny was an affectionate, kind, and generous individual; always putting the needs of others above her own until the very end. She was always lending a prayer and a kind word to those who needed it. Nanny’s personality brought love and joy to everyone. Her passing will be mourned deeply by those whom knew her and her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and those honored to have the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation for Nanny will be on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of service. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Anglin Funeral Home with Bro. William Gray officiating, burial will follow in the Ham Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Issac Stockman, Daneil Stephens, Aaron Scott, Jesse Almonrode, Lee Smith, and Jerry Luffman. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jackson, Dalton Stephens, and Tyler Brake.
