Judy Hewitt

Mrs. Judith Kaye Hewitt, age 67, of Bumpus Mills, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Born on November 29, 1956, in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Roy Eugene McGinnis and Loretta Jean Stone McGinnis.

Judy dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a registered nurse and a devoted homemaker. She proudly served in the U.S. Army, embodying a spirit of commitment and service that defined her character.

Judy's legacy of love and resilience will be carried on by her beloved husband, Raymond E. Hewitt; her son, Bryan Hewitt; her daughter, Amanda Hewitt; and her grandchild, Collin Howell, who was raised in her home; as well as her brothers, Tim McGinnis and Daryl McGinnis; and her sisters, Nancy Wilson and Sheryl Hicks.
She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

Judy was preceded in death by her son, Cpl. Cory Hewitt, who tragically lost his life during the War in Iraq in 2004, and her sister, Hazel Hindman.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed with a memorial service to celebrate Judy's life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Bumpus Mill Community Church; 120 Antioch Rd; Bumpus Mills, TN 37028 with Bro. Roy Arms officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Bumpus Mills Fire Department or the Bumpus Mills Community Church, in honor of Judy’s spirit of giving.
