Johnny Cunningham, age 49, of Dover, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born on October 5, 1975, in Clarksville, TN, he was the son of Jerry and Janie Cunningham.
Johnny worked as a technician at AT&T, but his true passions were rooted in the outdoors and his family. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outside. Johnny’s 22-year marriage to his wife, Abby, was a testament to his unwavering love and devotion. Together, they built a life full of laughter, love, and shared memories. A dedicated father and husband, Johnny was also an avid supporter of his children, rarely missing an opportunity to travel and cheer them on at their sporting events, whether it was ball games, golf tournaments, or conferences. His love for his children, Kamaren, Kallee, and Kyndal, was evident in everything he did.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Abby Bumpus Cunningham; their children, Kamaren, Kallee, and Kyndal Cunningham; his parents, Jerry and Janie Cunningham; his sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Shane Lyons; his father and mother-in-law, David and Rosemary Bumpus; a host of extended family and friends; and his faithful friend, his dog, Willie.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Dover, TN. Bro. Gary Wallace and Bro. David Whitehead will officiate.
Family and friends are welcome to attend.
