John Horn

John William Horn, 88, Memphis, TN, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, at his home in Memphis, Tennessee. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Anglin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 am Monday at Anglin Funeral Home at Anglin Funeral Home.
Anglin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Jay, as his friends called was born November 19, 1922 in Stewart County, TN. Jay retired from Chrysler Corporation. He served the motoring public as a regional manager until 1979. His mechanical career started in 1943 with the United States Army. During World War II, he served in Belgium and France as a technician fourth grade and received a World War II Victory Medal, American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with a Bronze Star. He met his life's partner in 1940 and married April 1947. Jay is survived by his bride of 63 years, Estelle Horn, two sons, Don of Memphis, TN, and Joe of Charlotte, NC, sister, Nadene Durham of Brentwood, TN, and grandchildren Lynsey and Michael. He is preceded in death by his half brother Hester and brother Lathan Horn. Jay was a long time Mason and member of Lodge 254. He loved woodworking and fishing.
