John Crutcher

Mr. John Earl Crutcher, age 67 of Clarksville, TN passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1959 in Erin, TN, son of Alvin Earl Crutcher and Bonnie Sizemore Crutcher.

John worked for decades as a radiologic technologist in the Clarksville area. As a healthcare provider, he was dedicated to his patients and his profession. He made lifelong friends with those he worked with. His patients loved him and his coworkers respected him.

John was devoted to his faith in God and served Him at Taylor’s Chapel Church of Christ in Dover for most of his adult life. He used his beautiful voice to lead singing, he taught bible classes, mentored new Christians, performed baptisms, and sometimes preached. He would say he was the speaker on those Sundays because he wasn’t qualified to be a preacher.

John was very close to his family, and he cherished every one of them. He was so proud of his three daughters, and he doted on his four grandchildren. He loved nothing better than taking his kids and grandkids on a cemetery tour of Land Between the Lakes and sharing their family history with them. He enjoyed Sunday Dinners at his mom’s house after church with siblings, kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and others. He could tell tall tales around the dinner table that kept everyone laughing.

John was a proud member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Ft Donelson Camp. He was adamant about historical accuracy of the Civil War and wanted to honor those soldiers who served. He enjoyed studying the events of the Civil War and was very knowledgeable.

He loved all SEC college football. He was a huge Ole Miss fan ever since his sister, Nelma, attended school there. His Saturdays in the fall were scheduled around kick off time for the Rebels. He spent lots of time in The Grove when his nephew, Scott, worked at Ole Miss.

John is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Earl Crutcher and his sister, Nelma Crutcher.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Terri Crutcher; his daughters, Amanda Lee (Chet) and Beverly Crutcher; stepdaughter, Sarah Grace Johnson; his mother, Bonnie Crutcher; siblings, Jane Link (Harold) and Terry Crutcher (Lindy); grandchildren, Kieli Amanda Knowles, Mark Jesse Wilkie, Savannah Kay Lee, and McKenna Reagan Lee; and several special nieces and nephews.

Visitation for John will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Taylor’s Chapel Church of Christ, where Bro. James Bates and Bro. Randy Stephens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylor’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Wallace, Blake Wallace, Jesse Wilkie, Chet Lee, Brian Byrd, Marty Nolin, Tim Sills, and Chase Link. Honorary Pallbearers are his brother, Terry Crutcher, and longtime friends, Dr. Cooper Beasley and Dr. Alan Werner.
