Jimmy Nelson

Jimmy Lee Nelson, age 64 of Dover, TN was called home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2022 at his residence. He was born August 5, 1957 the beloved son of the late Walter and Betty Nelson. Jimmy worked as a Civil Engineer as the President of Nooter Corporations and then Vice President of CIC Group, Inc. in St. Louis, MO. Jimmy was a Stewart County High School graduate. He continued his education at Murray State University graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree. He received his Master’s Degree in business from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. Jimmy loved boating, being on the water and was an avid story teller and loved photography. He had many other hobbies, but he truly enjoyed cooking and gathering his friends and family together to make lasting memories. He will be dearly missed by his co-workers, many dear friends and family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years; Melanie McCormack Nelson and sister; Kimberly Penrod.

He is survived by his loving daughter; Tiffany (Russell) Moon of St. Louis, MO, Laura Nelson of Dover, TN, Julia (Gregory) Benenati of St. Louis, MO, brother; Tommy Nelson of Dover, TN, sisters; Peggy (Mikey) Wallace of Bumpus Mills, TN, Beverly (Larry) Nash of Dover, TN, and granddaughter; Teagan McDaniel.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at New Hope Church of God. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at New Hope Church of God with Bro. Arnold Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers are Mikie Wallace, Eric Wallace, Trent Wallace, Greg Benenati, Russ Moon, Earl Harris, and George Sexton. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Nelson and Kevin Mathis
