Mr. Jimmie Mullins, age 85 of Indian Mound, TN was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was born in Stewart County on March 23, 1939 the son of the late James and Eula Byrd Mullins. Jimmie was a hard worker and provider for his family. He worked at ACME Boot for 20 years. He continued his work career as a loyal employee for The Trane Company for 37 years before retiring. After retirement, he worked as a bus driver for the Stewart County School System for 12 years. Jimmie proudly served Stewart County as a Commissioner for Indian Mound District 1 for 12 years. He volunteered on the Stewart County Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and raising a variety of farm animals. Jimmie was a good Christian man who was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and who faithfully served the Lord in a variety of ways. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend to many. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved daughters, Pamela Mullins and Carol Mullins Armstrong; brother, Billy Mullins and sisters, Janie Atkins and Lucille Mann.
He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Nancy Heflin Mullins; daughter, Tonya Welker (James); granddaughter, Miranda Bolt Hickman (Jacob); grandson, Trevor Bolt (Cheyenne); great- grandchildren, Willow Hickman and Cheyleigh Bolt; brother, Bailey Mullins (Ann) and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 8, 2024 beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Those serving as pallbearers are Jacob Hickman, Ronnie Atkins, Eli Thomas, Trevor Bolt, Perry Robertson and Kyle Meeks. Honorary pallbearer is Jason Dennis.
