Jimmie B. Byrd, 94 of Dyersburg, TN passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 11:00 am till the hour of service.
He was born September 6, 1919 in Stewart Co., TN son of the late Thomas and Flossie Smith Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired carpenter with the Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY, U. S. Army WWII veteran, a member of Wyatt's Chapel United Methodist Church where he was the former Sunday school superintendent and was a mason.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, William, Smith, Kelly and Fred Byrd and son in law, Michael Willis. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Bagwell Byrd, Dyersburg, TN, daughter, Joy Willis, Dyersburg, TN, grandson, Matthew Willis, brothers, Bobby Byrd, Dover, TN, Bill Byrd, Oak Ridge, TN and sister, Lillian Rogers, Toledo, OH. Family will serve as pallbearers.
