Jim Barrett

July 21, 1941 — March 22, 2025

Mr. John James Barrett, known to many as “Jim,” age 83, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born on July 21, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of the late John James Barrett, Sr. and Helen Wood Barrett.

Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army and later worked as an electrical contractor and business owner. He was a proud member and Past Master of Moriah Grove Masonic Lodge #301. In addition, he was a Nebraska State Wrestling Champion and a highly skilled craftsman with a passion for woodworking and all things handyman-related.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Barrett.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Barrett; children, Frank Barrett (Gina) and Debbie Barrett; grandchildren, Christopher Barrett, Michael Barrett, Nicole Devona, Stephanie Barrett, and Haylee Asher; great-grandchildren, Saylor Barrett, Parker Barrett, and Beckett Devona; as well as his sisters, Michelle Robinson and Linda Barrett.

Military honors and a Masonic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Anglin Funeral Home, with visitation preceding the service from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
