Mr. J.D. Byrd, age 76, of Dover, passed away, Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Manor House of Dover. The Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, May 11, at Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN with Bro. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10:00 am until the hour of service. He was born on December 13, 1936 in Stewart Co., TN son of the late Bill and Ella Sexton Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a retired TVA machinist and a Baptist. In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by a brother, Sexton Byrd, grandson, Roger Milton, Jr., and great granddaughter, Chasity White. Survivors include his son, Jimmy Byrd (Debbie), Clarksville, TN; daughters, Jan Shemwell (Ronnie), Dover, TN and Julie Proctor (Bobby), Cunningham, TN; brother, Roy Byrd (Betty), Indian Mound, TN; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Daniel Byrd, Josh Fitzhugh, Josh Shemwell, Ronnie Shemwell, Bobby Proctor, and Ed Givens. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Saunders, Ross Bagwell, Lexie Coleman and Perry Knight.
