Janet Richardson

November 13, 1938 — February 21, 2025

Mrs. Janet Richardson, age 86, of Indian Mound, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family and friends. She bravely battled melanoma and dementia in her final years.

Janet was born on November 13, 1938, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Cleve and Lillie Davidson Patterson. On August 27, 1955, she married Ray Richardson, with whom she shared more than 63 years of love and companionship before his passing in October 2018.

Janet was a devoted member of Hopewell Community Church. Throughout her career, she worked for various companies, including Mason Huges, Osh Kosh, Booster, and Jostens, before retiring from Stewart County High School, where she worked in the cafeteria. Janet’s life was defined by her hardworking spirit and the many roles she embraced. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tommy Richardson, and her siblings: Lawrence Patterson, Paul Patterson, Aubrey Patterson, Martha Donahue, and Geneva Georgia. She was also preceded by her beloved dog, Fat Girl, who passed away just two weeks ago.

Janet is survived by her son, Ronnie Richardson (Sherry), and daughter, Patricia Richardson, both of Indian Mound; her sister, Thelma Petrochko of Woodlawn; several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; her special friend and caregiver of the past year, Rosalinda Anderson; and Don Everett, whom she affectionately referred to as her ‘other son.’

A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Anglin Funeral Home, with Bro. Mitchell Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Dunbar Cemetery in Indian Mound, TN. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Nick Petrochko, Steven Lee, Billy Lee, Chris Perrigo, Dwayne Perrigo, and Charles Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will include Theo Richardson, Elmer Richardson, Robert Allen, Don Everett, Harold Chester, Dave Beale, and Wayne Richardson.
