James Smith

Mr. James Smith, age 83 of Indian Mound, TN was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Henry County Medical Center. He was born October 22, 1939 in Indian Mound, TN, the beloved son of the late Alvin Pete and Beulah Norfleet Smith. James was a hard worker and provider. He retired from TDOT as a truck driver. James also enjoyed working on his farm and raising a garden. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Indian Mound, TN.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Raymond Smith, Aaron Smith, Bill Smith, Thurston Smith, George “Peewee” Elliott and sister; Mary Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; Helen Dunaway Smith and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Smith, Austin, Wallace Cemetery, Indian Mound, TN with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
