James B. Smith, age 96, of Woodlawn passed away, Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral service will be at 11 am Saturday at the Long Creek Nazarene Church, Dover, TN, with Bro. Tracy Hoskins to officiate, burial will follow at the Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm Friday at Anglin Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born October 29, 1916, in Stewart County, son of the late, Authur and Lillie Glasgow Smith. Mr. Smith is a US Army WWII veteran, retired from Fort Campbell, and a founding member of the Woodlawn Community Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Orman Smith, daughters, Geneva Green, Frances Donsbach, brother, John L. Smith, and sisters, Pauline Smith, Ella Warfield, Dorothy Mae Smith. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Howard Smith, Woodlawn, children, Marion Howard Smith, Woodlawn, Carolyn Joan Perry, Detroit, MI, brother, Otho Smith, Ashland City, TN, sister, Opal Duncan, Dover, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the James B. Smith Memorial Fund for the Geneva Sue Green Sports Fields at Woodlawn Community Church, Woodlawn Community Church 2100 Woodlawn Road Woodlawn, TN 37191.
