James William Risner, age 84, of Dover, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at his home. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Taylor Chapel Church of God, Big Rock, with Bro. Pat Merrell to officiate, burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery, Big Rock. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Anglin Funeral Home and from 12:00 until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
He was born June 12, 1930 in Ohio, son of the late John and Dorothy Spradlin Risner. Mr. Risner served in the US Army and Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He owned and operated EZ Klean Shade Shop in Ohio and then manufactured drapery. He moved to Dover in 1971 and developed New Haven Mobile Home Park.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Ruth Taylor Risner, brothers, Gene Risner, and George Risner who preceded him in childhood, sisters, Dorothy Waugh, Mary Detillion, Mabel Turner, and Yvonne Houser.
Survivors include his daughter, Desiree Risner, Dover, a daughter, a son, both of TX, brother, Lacey Risner, CA, sister, June Thompson, OH, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
