James Mathis

James Carroll Mathis, 90, Paris, TN passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Henry Co. Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Anglin Funeral Home with Ricky Parker and Joe Page officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 4-8 pm and Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 12-2 pm at Anglin Funeral Home. He was born August 11, 1921 in Golden Pond, KY son of the late Sam and Lizzie Lee Mathis. Mr. Mathis was a retired production foreman from Nestle Co. , had worked with the CCC, attended West Wood Pentecostal Church, Paris, TN, and a US Army WWII veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Mathis, sisters, Ortha Page, Dorothy Johnson, and Maxine Earhart. Survivors include his wife, May Wallace Mathis, Paris, TN; sons, Junior C. Mathis, Tuscon, AZ, and David Owen Mathis, San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
