James 'Tony' Cheshire

James "Tony" Cheshire, age 63, of Big Rock, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 17, 1962, the son of James and Betty Jones Cheshire.

James loved the Lord and was a faithful servant and member of New Hope Church of God. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and cherished the peacefulness of being on the lake, surrounded by God's creation.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, JamieLea A. Cheshire; and his sisters, Pat Thomas and Joyce Ann Adams.

James leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Sabina Balkcom Cheshire; daughters, Ashley Paige Martinez (Daniel) of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Wanda "Rene" Cheshire of Big Rock, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dominic C. Martinez and Aurora P. Martinez (Daniel); sisters, Glenda Hilton (Russell) of Blackshear, Georgia, Betty Jo Oglesby (Wayne) of Waycross, Georgia, Wanda Keator (David) and Karen Lane, both of Dover, Tennessee; brothers, Phillip Balkcom (Liz) of Waynesboro, Georgia, and K.C. Balkcom (Kassi) of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; his mother- and father-in-law, Johnnie and Elaine Balkcom of Dover, Tennessee; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Church of God, with Bro. Brad Epperson, Bro. Jay Bragdon, and Bro. Caleb Epperson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Anglin Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
